                The program aims to enable diversification of energy resources, ensuring a sustainable supply of energy and water in the future by providing innovative renewable energy and/or clean combustion solutions. The program includes studies to identify the optimum RE technologies to be installed, technologies to be tested and modified to fit loacal conditions, and conducting R & D producing novel systems to address particular future needs of Kuwait.                 Lesotho Renewable Energy-Based Rural Electrification Project (LREBRE)

                The project aimed at reducing energy related CO2 emissions by introducing renewable energy technologies and low Green House Gases technologies as a substitute for fossil fuels (paraffin and diesel) utilized in rural areas of the country. The project has distributed solar panels to promote the use of RETs. The distribution of panels has been accompanied by several capacity building activities such as training workshops in skills relevant to the solar PV value chain.

                The Energy Efficiency Fund aims to fund the programmes and measures under the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan and has three main objectives: - To encourage efficiency by citizens and businesses, - To support energy efficiency projects in areas where until now such projects had not yet been developed, - To promote behavioural change in this area.                 Promotion of Energy Efficient Distribution Transformer in Rajasthan

                The notification aims to promote the use of energy efficient distribution transformers by making the star labelling of distribution transformers up to 200 KVA mandatory (see BEE Notification No. 2/11(5)/03-BEE-3 dated 6th July 2009). According to this notification, all new installations of distribution transformers up-to 200 KVA must use only star labelled transformers. In new residential and non-residential government buildings the specification is to use only energy efficient distribution transformers with three stars or more.

                Energy Transition Fund

                The Energy Transition Fund aims to encourage and support research, development and innovation in the field of energy.

                Within the framework of the Energy Transition Fund, the Directorate General for Energy organises each year a call for proposals in accordance with Article 3, §1 of the Royal Decree of 9 May 2017 laying down the conditions of use of the Energy Transition Fund.

                The present call (2019 - subsidies in 2020) aims to support innovative projects within the following federal energy competences:

                renewable energy in the Belgian Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Sea;

                Call 19 aims to support the development of projects and initiatives that promote energy efficiency by financing projects that correspond to the "Industry" area and measures inserted in the Portuguese NEEAP 2016 named "SGCIE - Medidas Transversais" or "SGCIE - Medidas Especì ficas", which, among others, provides support to projects that lead to the increase of energy efficiency through the optimization of processes and introduction of new technologies.
