Government-wide Programme for a Circular Economy
…them. The National Agreement on the Circular Economy marks the starting point for the concerted efforts. The agreement will underpin the development of transition agendas.The government has selected 5 economic sectors and value chains that will be the first to switch to a circular economy. These 5 priorities are important to the Dutch economy and have a big impact on the environment. Much is already being done in these sectors to move towards a circular economy, both in the Netherlands and in Europe. The 5 economic sectors are: biomass and food, plastics, manufacturing industry, construction sector and consumer goods.

Company tax benefits for zero-emissions vehicles
Two forms of tax benefits are available for the use of low- or zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) company cars as private vehicles. In 2014, 33% of cars registered were company cars, compared to 36% for private cars.
1. Income tax rates:
In the Netherlands, the use of company cars for private use is taxed. However, a more favourable rate of income tax is available for people who use low or zero-emissions company cars for private use.

Climate Act
…structural and legally binding framework for planning, anchoring and regularly assessing and evaluating progress and effects. There will be an annual climate and energy outlook report (KEV) by PBL, providing information on realised effects and projected effects. The government has also to periodically update its climate policy plan (klimaatplan).
The proposal for the Climate Act was sent to parliament in June 2018. It calls for a 49% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared to 1990 levels, and a 95% reduction by 2050. The Act should give individuals and companies in the Netherlands more certainty about the climate goals. -

Feed-in Premium Programme SDE + (Stimulering Duurzame Energie +)

The SDE+ programme has years set budget and distributed on a 'first-come, first-served' basis prioritising low-cost technologies through a phase in the process. All categories compete for the same budget in order that only lower-cost technologies receive a substantial subsidy.

Energy Efficiency Benchmarking Covenant
