Extension of aid for energy renovations in buildings

The budget of the PREE initiative for energy renovation in buildings that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan was increased from initially EUR 300 million to EUR 402.5 million in July 2021. That constitutes an increase of 35% over the 300 million budget initially allocated for the timeframe 2020 to 2023. This program is included in the 2nd component of Spain’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Energy efficiency labelling and standard for air cleaner

The standard of the energy efficiency labelling grade 2 for an air cleaner was strengthened by approximately 20% since 2018.

The energy efficiency level index for a grade 2 air cleaner should not exceed 0.70. The energy efficiency level index is defined as power consumption per 1 m2 and calculated as power consumption measured (W) divided by the standard usage area (m2).
