Proposal on the regulation for the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure, (repealing EU Directive 2014/94/EU)
The original directive, promulgated in 2014, established a common framework of measures for the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure in the Union in order to minimise dependence on oil and to mitigate the environmental impact of transport. This Directive set out minimum requirements for the building-up of alternative fuels infrastructure, including recharging points for electric vehicles and refuelling points for natural gas (LNG and CNG) and hydrogen, to be implemented by means of Member States' national policy frameworks, as well as common technical specifications for such recharging and refuelling points, and user information requirements.This has now been repealed…

Mapping interest in major hydrogen Important Project of Common European Interest (H-IPCEI)
EIS launched a call for ideas Mapping the Interest in Major Hydrogen Technology Projects (H-IPCEI), i.e. a pan-European mapping of developers to support major projects of strategic importance. A total of 10 projects were found to be suitable in the call for ideas for hydrogen projects, 3 of which received funding in the first stage: Skeleton Technologies, Elcogen and Stargate Hydrogen Solutions. Clean Fuels Fund
The CAD 1.5 billion fund announced in Budget 2021 aims to grow the domestic clean fuels market, supports the implementation of the Clean Fuels Standard and delivers on early actions of the Hydrogen Strategy. The fund supports building new or expanding existing clean fuel production facilities, including hydrogen, ethanol, renewable diesel, synthetic fuels, renewable natural gas and sustainable aviation fuel. Budget 2024 announced the retooling of the Clean Fuels Fund and its extension to March 31, 2030.
