Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP)
Canada launched a new EV affordability incentive programme, offering up to USD 3 650 (CAD 5 000) for battery‑electric and fuel‑cell vehicles and USD 1800 (CAD 2 500) for plug‑in hybrids, for vehicles purchased or leased. The programme targets lower‑cost EVs, supports domestic manufacturing and complements investments in charging infrastructure. To qualify, EVs must be made in Canada or in countries that have free-trade agreements with Canada.

Heavy duty electric vehicle ecosystem call for projects
In 2022 and 2023, electric heavy-duty vehicles were supported by the Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle Ecosystems call for projects. This scheme, operated by ADEME, aimed to support the purchase and long-term leasing of heavy-duty electric vehicles, as well as the installation of charging stations adapted to their use. This call for projects had a budget of €65 million in 2022 and €60 million in 2023.

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Investment Plan
The government aims at deploying 32,000 public charging units by 2030 to match its targets of 2 million electric cars and 13 million electric two-wheeled vehicles on the road by the same date. The national power distribution company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara is in charge of this deployment.

Support to electric vehicle procurement and charging infrastructure development
The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs (BMDV) is investing in the procurement of vehicles and the development of charging infrastructure as part of the electric mobility funding guideline via funding calls. The funding supports municipal and commercial fleets in accelerating the switch to alternative drive systems. In 2023, 2 funding calls were carried out.

Electric vehicle import tariff inflexion
Through Resolution 532, new import taxes were decided for hybrid, plug-in, and electric vehicles. The increase in the import tax will be gradual until 2026 for all three types of vehicles. As for electric vehicles, a rate of 10% will be applied from January 2024, which will increase to 35% in July 2026.

Increase in import tariffs for EVs and ICE vehicles
The Indian government enacted a Basic Customs Duty (BCD) increase for electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles manufactured in Completely Built Unit (CBU) form. BCD sill increase from 60% to 70% for ICE vehicles in CBU form costing less than USD 40 000 with an engine power of less than 3,000 cc, and for electric vehicles in CBU form costing more than USD 40 000. A BCD increase to both ICE and EV vehicles imported in Semi Knocked Down (SKD) form, from 30% to 35%, was also enacted.

National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020
The Department of Heavy Industry published in 2012 the "National Electric Mobility Mission Plan" (NEMMP) 2020 which aims at promoting hybrid and electric vehicles. It sets out the target to achieve 6-7 million sales of hybrid and electric vehicles year on year from 2020 onwards by providing fiscal incentives. The main policy to achieve targets set out in the NEMMP is the "Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles" (FAME) scheme.

International Green Electric Highways - Study to assess fast charging infrastructure to enable deployment of electric vehicles in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
