Australian Fuel Security and Resilience package

The Australian Fuel Security and Resilience package was introduced to ensure energy sovereignty and protect Australia's  energy interests. The package will provide more than $10 billion to secure Australia’s near-term fuel and fertiliser security, establish a permanent Government-owned Australian Fuel Security Reserve of around a billion litres, and lift the Minimum Stockholding Obligation by around 10 days for every type of fuel.

                National Climate Protection Programme

The original National Climate Protection Programme, established in 2000, was updated in 2005 to ensure that Germany would be able to comply with its European and international level commitments to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions from 2008 to 2012 by 21% as against 1990 levels and thus provide a basis for further environmental policies after 2012. The update to the 2000 programme took stock of the federal governments climate protection policies in the intervening 5 years. It outlined the measures taken and their reduction effect with respect to greenhouse gas emissions and assessed whether the targets in different sectors had…

                National Debate on Energy

Based on a broad national debate on energy carried out over the course of 2003, the government is elaborating guidelines for future legislation in the energy sector (notably through a white paper on energy). The guidelines focus around three main axes:

                - Improving energy efficiency

                - Diversifying the energy mix

                - The development of renewable energy sources

                The Security Act

The Act applies to "activities which are of vital importance to fundamental national functions" which would include the energy sector. The Act imposes requirements such as the duty to implement security measures, conduct risk assessments, and provide notice of security-related incidents. Undertakings deemed vital must ensure an appropriate level of security for their information, systems, objects, and infrastructure to prevent harm to national security interests.

                National hydrogen import strategy

Austria is currently drafting a national hydrogen import strategy to complement domestic production to ensure long-term security of supply and support the transition to climate neutrality by 2040. The strategy will focus on diversifying import sources, building international partnerships, and integrating imported green hydrogen into Austria’s energy system in a sustainable and resilient way

                Oil Mines Regulations 2017

This legislation outlines requirements for upstream oil and gas facilities, mostly with regards to safety issues and necessary training. Moreover, it determines that all oil and gas production installations must be equipped with a flare line. It also prescribes the flare stack height, anchoring equipment for the flare line and requires that these are provided with a remote ignition system.

                Energy Policy

In 2002, the Swedish government presented its Energy Policy Bill ?Co-operation for a Secure, Efficient and Environmentally-Friendly Energy Supply? (2001/02:143). This report, approved by Parliament, re-affirmed the countrys established energy policy objectives. The energy policy decision contained measures designed to encourage more efficient energy consumption through the rationalisation of existing policy measures and the dissemination of knowledge at the national and regional levels. The decision also announced a new method to promote environmentally-friendly and renewable electricity production through a quota-based trading programme for green electricity certificates.

                Green Electricity Act

The Green Electricity Act, which entered into force on the 1st of January 2003, made way for a uniform country wide regulation of the support schemes for Green Power. The Green Electricity Act is aimed at: - A single federal support payment scheme for "other" green power, small hydro and combined heat and power (CHP) was introduced; - A uniform feed-in tariff scheme was introduced for all eligible renewable energy sources; - The minimum target contribution from small hydro in 2008 was raised from 8 % to 9 % of total supply; - The minimum target contribution from "other" green power in 2008 was set…
