                The federal government has implement the EU's Ecodesign Directive (2005/32/EC) into German law by means of the Energy-using Products Act (EBPG). The Ecodesign Directive constitutes the framework for the introduction of the harmonized standards with regard to ecodesign of energy-using products in the EU. During the recast of the Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC), its scope was extended to all energy-relevant products.The EU Ecodesign Directive (2005/32/EC) was transposed into German law in 2008.                 This law establishes that all hydrocarbon resources, essential infrastructure and information acquired or produced in oil operations are the exclusive property of the state (Art.10). Thus, oil and gas developments can only be undertaken after due authorization. The regulation refers to an institutional structure composed by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, a regulatory authority, a national operator and advisory bodies.                 Funding guideline to support the export of German hydrogen technologies

                The funding guideline for the provision of financial support to international hydrogen projects was published in the Federal Gazette and entered into force on 4 October. The goal is to set up a global market for green hydrogen, by using German technology abroad. Funding can be granted for 25-45% of eligible costs, with a ceiling funding amount of EUR 14 million per project. The funding guideline sets EUR 150 million per year as a budget.                 Agreement with Industry on CO2 Emissions Cuts

                …By another supplement to this agreement, CO2 emissions are to be lowered by a further 45 million tonnes in 2010. A special focus is the greater use of cogeneration, which will allow 23 million tonnes of CO2 emissions to be avoided in 2010. To support this measure, the German government introduced new legislation for sustaining, modernising, and expanding cogeneration.
