                Renewable Energy 2035 Roadmap

                In October 2024, Renewable Energy Roadmap for 2035 was launched. It is aimed to increase our cumulative solar and wind installed power capacity to 120 GW in 2035, and it is estimated that 80 billion USD of investment will be needed. According to the Roadmap it is planned that 14,700 km HVDC, with a total capacity of 40 GW, approximately 15,000 km AC line and 40 HVDC converter center will be built and the interconnection capacity will be increased to 6,750 MW in exports and 6,600 MW in imports within the context of the green transmission…

                The 13th Wind Power Development Five Year Plan (2016-2020) was adopted by National Energy Administration on 16th of November 2016 establishing targets for wind power deployment until 2020. Targets are as follow:

                Technology

                Wind capacity targets (grid connected) by 2020

                Onshore wind

                205 GW

                Offshore wind

                5 GW

                Total targeted installed wind capacity

                210 GW

                By 2020 onshore and offshore wind plants will generate 420 TWh on an annual basis, accounting for about 6% of the total generating capacity in China.
                In mid-east China and South China on-grid wind installed capacity will reach more than 42 GW…

                National Energy Agenda 2016-2040

                …will strengthen actions to monitor, follow-up and assess impacts associated with greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector. Furthermore, the development of oil and gas production will be promoted in a sustainable manner, with respect to economic, social and environmental aspects. In particular, hydrocarbon extraction processes should ensure sustainable use of energy resources and reduce flaring of associated gas. The Agenda also sets a target of elaborating, at least once every five years, a proposal for the national contribution of the energy sector for the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. This should support efforts to obtain climate finance and…

                Energy Efficiency Strategy of the Republic of South Africa

                The NEES outlined how an overall energy intensity reduction target of 12% by 2015 could be achieved with the following sectoral energy efficiency improvement targets. The Implementation plans were drawn up for each of the sectors with forecasted targets of energy use reductions based upon assumptions about energy demand over the next 10 years (2005 – 2015 using the 2000 year baselines), including the associated drivers, such as the economic development and population growth.

                Integrated Energy Policy

                …develop a comprehensive energy policy in 2004. The Integrated Energy Policy, released in August 2006, addresses all aspects of energy, including energy security, access and availability, affordability and pricing, efficiency and the environment. The broad vision behind the energy policy is to provide safe and convenient energy at the lowest cost in a technically efficient, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable manner -thereby reliably meeting the demand for energy services of all sectors, including the energy needs of vulnerable households in all parts of the country.On energy efficiency, the IEP proposes a number of goals:Reduce energy intensity by 20…

                Governance Regulation - Energy Union and Climate Action

                The Energy Union and Climate Action mechanism is designed to integrate national energy and climate plans covering ten year periods starting with 2021 to 2030, in order to meet climate goals. It aggregates EU and national long term strategies, reporting, monitoring and data publication. GHG emissions are expected to reduce by 40% by 2030 compared to 1990, use of coal is projected to decrease by 70%, and renewable energy is expected to reach 60% of electricity produced.

                …Programme places energy policies in their many aspects as pivotal in reconverting and modernising the Portuguese economy, promoting a territorially-balanced growth and fostering job creation in a convoluted and fast changing international backdrop.

                The National Energy Strategy (ENE 2020) hinges around five unfolding and detailed main axes, which act as a vision, a focused set of priorities and an outline of enabling measures:

                Axis 1 - AGENDA FOR COMPETITIVENESS, GROWTH AND ENERGY AND FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE - ENE 2020 stimulates the different economic areas adding value and job creation by betting on innovative projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy…

                The 2005-2025 National Energy Blueprint identifies short- and long-term development objectives in the electricity sector. In addition to targets on increasing electrification levels, infrastructure expansion, reduction of subsidies and improvement in efficiency, the Blueprint establishes targets for electricity production from various renewable energy sources.
                Targets:
                The target is set at 15% of the countrys electricity demand by 2025 to come from renewable energy sources.
                Specific targets for energy production from various renewable energy sources are established as follows:

                Geothermal: 9 500 MW;
                Small-scale hydropower: 500 MW (on grid) 330 MW (off grid);
