Blue Angel Ecolabel: Hot Water Tank
Germany's Blue Angel ecolabelling scheme has launched a label for highly insulated hot water tanks, among labels for several other products of household heat production. Consumers who buy hot water tanks meeting the standard could reduce their energy costs for heating water by up to 10%, according to the German environment ministry. The labelling criteria also specify that manufacturers accept and recycle used tanks.

Subsidy for solar PV with storage installations (Programm zur Förderung von PV-Batteriespeichern)
Germany on 1st of March will start a new EUR 30m programme to support investments into the battery storage of electricity generated from PV residential installations in order to strengthen grid services of solar plants and help cost reduction. The programme will last until 2018.
The scheme provides:
Soft loans up to EUR 2,000 / kW for the solar PV system and
Capital grant covering up to 25% of the eligible solar PV panel

Wind
Wind has significant potential to boost growth in global renewable capacity
Electricity generation from renewables is expected to increase by 60% through 2030 – rising from 9 900 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2024 to 16 200 TWh by the end of the decade. Wind accounts for almost a third of growth, second only to solar PV, which accounts for 60%.
Although wind power continues to face supply chain issues, rising costs and permitting delays today, global capacity is still expected to nearly double to over 2 000 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 as both advanced and developing economies tackle these barriers.
