In June 2024, the European Commission pre-disclosed the level of provisional countervailing duties it would implement on battery electric vehicles imported from China from 4 July 2024 onwards, should discussions with Chinese authorities not be fruitful.

Federal Income Tax Law on fiscal support for electric vehicles (Art. 28 & 204)
The Mexican Income Tax Law grants benefits, in the form of tax deductions, consumers renting electric and hybrid vehicles through leasing contracts. Loan payments are deductible from taxes up to 285 pesos per day per car for electric vehicles (EVs) and vehicles with hydrogen-powered engines, compared to 200 pesos for Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles. In addition, the Income Tax Law adds an other tax deduction incentive of 30% for investments made in public charging stations for EVs.

Scheme for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) & Electric Vehicles in India - FAME
The government adopted the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and EV (FAME) scheme in 2015 with an outlay of INR 8.95 billion (USD 130 million), which provided subsidies for electric 2- and 3-wheelers, hybrid and e-cars and buses. FAME II is effective from April 2019.

VAT incentives for plug-in hybrid and hybrid electric vehicles
A reduction of the special consumption tax (VAT) on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and Hybrid Electric Electric Vehicles (HEVS).
A 45% reduction is provided when the electric motor is over 50 kW and the engine cylinder volums under 1800 cm3. A 90% reduction is provided when the electric motor is over 100 kW and engine cylinder volume under 2500 cm3. -

…to clean cooking, air pollution is linked to around 3.7 million premature deaths a year. Replacing open fires and inefficient stoves with cleaner, more modern stoves and fuels reduces household air pollution and improves efficiency. Indoor air pollution from liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cookstoves is only around 5% of pollution from traditional biomass, while being over three times more efficient. Switching from LPG to electric cooking would further reduce indoor air pollution by 25% and is over 1.5 times more efficient. Need more information? Decree 2021-153 - establishing support to investments relating to rapid charging infrastructures for electric vehicles on major roads
The French government is allocating subsidies to companies investing in particularly effective charging installations for electric vehicles on public highways and national roads. The base rate of the subsidy is set at 30% of the infrastructure considered- associated costs included- with margins reflecting expected profitability (40% for areas with low-profitability and 10% for others).
