                2030 Climate and Energy Framework

…and interconnection capacity between EU countriesFirst ideas on a new governance system based on national plans for competitive, secure, and sustainable energy. These plans will follow a common EU approach. They will ensure stronger investor certainty, greater transparency, enhanced policy coherence and improved coordination across the EU.The framework was adopted by EU leaders in October 2014. It builds on the 2020 climate and energy package. It is also in line with the longer term perspective set out in the Roadmap for moving to a competitive low carbon economy in 2050, the Energy Roadmap 2050 and the Transport White Paper.
