Act no. 309/2009 Coll. on the promotion of renewable energy sources and high efficiency cogeneration as amended
The act aims at setting the legal framework and regulations to support the development of renewable energy sources in Slovakia. It was last amended in 2022 to notably set blending requirements for disel and gasoline of 8.2% for 2022 // 8.6% for 2023 // 8.8% for 2024 // 9.2% for 2025 // 9.5% for 2026 // 10.0% for 2027 // 10.4% for 2028 // 10.8% for 2029 // 11.4% for 2030.

Renewable Energy Targets
One of the measures introduced by the Energy Liberalisation Act in July 2000 (Electricity Act 2000) is the obligation to purchase green power and to reach minimum “eco-targets.” Distribution system operators are required to purchase electricity from recognised eco-plants up to a certain share of their electricity sales to final consumers (shares are to be at least 1% in 2001; 2% in 2003; 3% in 2005 and 4% in 2007). Amendment of Investment Screening Regime
Lithuania amended its investment screening regime in Aug 2020, enacting the evaluation criteria of investors that may pose risks to national security interests as well as the procedure of their evaluation. The considered list of businesses and entities include radioactive waste companies, 5G service providers and infrastructure developers, secure public data transmission network and public security and emergency services digital mobile radio communication network operators, and selected power generation companies.

Guidance to improve electric power operation facilitating further development of clean energy

The European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) helps co-ordinate access to pan-European research infrastructure as a single point of entry. Resolution 40715/2019: Wholesale Energy Market with RES in 2023
To reach a more eco-friendly energy matrix, the Ministry of Mines and Energy approved resolution 40715 that stipulates that, as of 2023, at least 10% of electricity purchases of wholesalers of the Wholesale Energy Market destined to serve end users must come from renewables (FNCER), through long-term contracts. In 2019, this requirement was partially regulated for marketers that serve regulated users, that is, residential, commercial and small industry, with a validity for 2022. From 2023 this measure come to an effect for all end users.

Resolution of the Council of Ministries - 63/2003
Promotion of national competitiveness : the main focus is the liberalisation of the electricity market and to decrease energy intensity.
