Energy Consulting and Information Centres Network
Within the implementation of the State Programme on the Promotion of Energy Savings and the Utilisation of Renewable Energy Sources (EFEKT Programme), funds are regularly spent in the areas of intervention of energy consultancy and promotion of the economic use of energy to improve the environment. The Energy Consulting and Information Centre (EKIS) Network consists of around 50 centres that provide free advice on energy efficiency. These centres are established annually and financially supported from the EFEKT programme budget. A web-based service is also available (i-EKIS).

Since of the implementation of the CHP Directive (2004/8/EC) in Polands legal system the Polish Energy Law has been amended and the Minister of Economy has issued order on the methods of calculating data to be provided in the application for the issue of a certificate of origin from cogeneration and the detailed scope of the obligation to obtain and present these certificates for redemption, to pay a substitute fee and to confirm the data on the amount of electricity produced from high efficiency cogeneration.

Solidarity Shield: Law on Emergency measures aiming at limiting electricity price rise and supporting consumers in 2023
The Polish parliament enacted a law setting maximum electricity prices for eligible customers from 1 December 2022 until 31 December 2023.The Solidarity Shield guarantees a maximum price of PLN 693/MWh for households and PLN 785/MWh for SMEs, local governments, public healthcare facilities, and other eligible off-takers. The price cap aims to guarantee a fixed price for a maximum consumption of 2000 kWh for households, 2600 kWh for people with disabilities, 3000 kWh for large families.The Solidarity Shield also sets a compensation mechanism (discount) to incentivize energy savings.
