                Clean Technology (CT) Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

                The Clean Technology investment tax credit provides a 30-per-cent refundable tax credit to taxable Canadian corporations and mutual fund trusts that are real estate investment trusts for the capital cost of investments in certain clean technologies, including certain clean electricity generation systems, stationary electricity storage systems that do not use fossil fuels in their operation, certain low-carbon heating equipment, non-road zero-emission vehicles and related charging or refuelling infrastructure. The credit applies to property that is acquired and becomes available for use on or after March 28, 2023, with the credit rate reduced by one half…

                Financing the ASEAN Power Grid

                Background information The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has a long history of electricity system connectivity, and the development of the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) is central to achieving a secure, affordable and sustainable energy transition across the region. Delivering the APG will require a significant step‑change in investment over the coming 15 years, and unlocking financing from a diverse range of sources will be essential for this to happen. Yet financing approaches and business models have not evolved at the pace required to support an increasingly ambitious and complex pipeline of interconnector projects.The IEA’s report on…

                The Energy & Climate Research and Development (EKOO) scheme focuses on producing green hydrogen via water electrolysis to replace fossil energy carriers, aiming for a CO2-free industrial energy system. The goal is to significantly reduce energy consumption and contribute to a sustainable, circular economy. Quantitatively, the target is to achieve a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions through the widespread adoption of green hydrogen technology.

                Renewable Energy Strategy 2009

                The UK Renewable Energy Strategy 2009 is a white paper outlining how the UK will meet its legally-binding target to ensure 15% of energy comes from renewable energy sources by 2020.
                Under the 2008 Climate Change Act, the UK must meet legally binding carbon "budgets", committing the UK to cuts its emissions by 34% by 2020 and 80% by 2050.
                The Strategy comprises three primary 2020 targets:
                Over 30% of electricity to be generated from renewable energy sources, mostly from wind power, with biomass, hydro, wave and tidal power playing important roles;
                12% of heat to be generated from…

                The 3rd Basic Energy Plan (2019-2040)

                The 3rd Basic Energy Plan establishes the national vision for "Sustainable Growth through Energy Transition and Improvement of Quality of Life". The plan is built on five core pillars:Consumption Innovation: Targets a 38% improvement in energy efficiency and an 18.6% reduction in total demand by 2040 through demand management in industry, buildings, and transport.Energy Mix Transition: Aims to increase the share of renewable energy to 30-35% by 2040 while drastically reducing coal power and gradually phasing out nuclear energy (by halting new construction and ending lifespan extensions).Decentralized Systems: Plans to increase the proportion of distributed…
