In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government of Luxembourg decided to unveil a recovery package of more than EUR 700-800 million in May 2020. Among them, the government aimed to increase subsidies by 25% in order to improve heating infrastructure in buildings.

2023 efficient and electric vehicle adoption incentives
The French government allocated extended budget outlays to two consumer subsidy schemes promoting the purchase of electric vehicles, or hydrogen-based vehicles (Bonus écologique) or energy-efficient vehicles (prime à la conversion).In addition, a new "social leasing" scheme enabling low-revenue households to rent an electric car for EUR 100/month was implemented from January to mid-February 2024. It was extremely successful, and its budget was swiftly depleted in 2024. A renewal of the scheme is announced for 2025.

Download supply & demand data behind the Critical Minerals Data Explorer 2024 edition In its first release, this dataset provides demand projection results for 37 key metals and minerals that are critical to the clean energy sector under different scenarios and technology cases, including 12 alternative cases modeling the impact of different technologies or consumer behaviours.This edition is also updated with long-term supply projections for mining and refining of several key minerals.The numbers will be regularly updated to align with the latest energy scenarios in line with the IEA's Global Energy and Climate model.

UK Budget 2020 - Heat Networks Investment Project
The government added GBP 96 million to the budget for the last year of the scheme, which ends in March 2022. A further GBP 270 million will be invested in a new Green Heat Networks Scheme. It will enable new and existing heat networks to switch to low carbon sources and connect to waste heat that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

Subsidy for heat producers
The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade announced to provide in 2023 subsidies to heat producers to cover higher costs of heat generation. The aim is to shield customers from high prices since the subsidy beneficiary will be obliged to decrease heat prices accordingly.
