Energy Conservation Ordinance
The Energy Conservation Ordinance, which came into force on 1 February 2002 and has been updated in 2004 and 2007, aims at reducing the amount of energy consumed in heating, climate control, and hot-water provision in new buildings by roughly 25 to 30%. It unifies the previously separate thermal insulation and the heating installation ordinances. Another new provision of the Ordinance is that new buildings must have an energy-profile certificate showing information on its energy demand. The Energy Conservation Ordinance also encourages energy efficiency improvements in existing buildings. The Ordinance requires that all boilers installed before October 1978…

Building the Future
The programme aims at reducing the total building energy consumption and increasing the level of environmental protection, by using a number of financial instruments and market mechanisms such as: Energy Performance Contracts, Industrial and Commercial Voluntary Agreements, Energy Service Companies and White Certificates. The interventions include: - the improvement of thermal insulation of building shell - the replacement of window/door glazing and frame of low energy performance- the replacement of low energy performance heating oil boilers with new high energy performance ones or natural gas systems or systems using Renewable Energy Resources- the installation of solar water heaters - the improvement of…

Hy4Heat: Hydrogen for Heating Demonstration Porgramme
The UK’s first homes with household appliances fuelled entirely by hydrogen are being built in Gateshead, funded in part by the government Hy4Heat innovation programme. The homes are built in Low Thornley, Gateshead and will open in April 2021. The Scheme is part of the UK’s Ten Point Plan, which also includes a Hydrogen neighbourhood.
The project secured a £250,000 grant from the government’s Hy4Heat Innovation programme and is being run by gas company Northern Gas Networks and Cadent, who have both also input £250,000 of funding each.
The houses are open to the… -

MEPS for Electrical driven multi heat pump-Central HVAC
VRF multi-split heat pumps were initially part of the High-efficiency Appliance Certification Program, however, it has been remarked that their energy efficiency drops when the length of pipe gets longer (up to 20~30%). Furthermore, the most of VRF multi-split heat pumps energy efficiency dropped under -15? (the actual winter temperature of Seoul). At 7? the heating efficiency(COP) was relatively high (3~3.8). But at -15?, the efficiency of general type models(heating efficiency is relatively high until -10?) dropped to similar levels of the worst heating appliances (electric stoves and electric fan heaters). The efficiency of…

New Green Savings program: Boiler subsidies for low income households
The New Green Savings program provides subsidies to low-income households to replace old solid fuel boilers. The government subsidy provides up to 95% for the purchase of a new ecological resource, including the provision of an advance for this investment. Other households (non-vulnerable target group) also have the opportunity to receive a lower subsidy (50%) for boiler replacement in the New Green Savings program.
