Promoting sustainable energy
The Government of Slovak Republic aims to promote sustainable energy by facilitating efficient development of renewable energy projects, speeding up the issuance of environmental permits, maximising use of geothermal energy and heat pumps. It also aims to establish a knowledge centre for new techniques in best available technologies, development of trajectories for sustainable use of biomass, as well as roadmaps for biomethane and organic fertilisers production and circular bio economy.

Law about energy saving and energy efficiency
This Law establishes the legal, economic and organizational basis for stimulating energy conservation and increasing energy efficiency. It lays out plans for a short-term energy saving and energy efficiency program that lasts a year (Art. 20) and the financing of it (Art. 22).

Obligation for Power Purchase from Renewable Sources
In order to promote the utilization of renewable energy sources for energy production, Poland introduced in 2005 (with effect from 1st October 2005) a support system for generating electricity from renewable energy sources (system of green certificates). It is primarily regulated by the Energy Law Act of 10 April 1997 with later amendments and the secondary legislation. The Polish RES support scheme is a market-based mechanism that is conducive to optimal development and competition.
