Heat Planning Act
The Heat Planning Act requires local competent authorities to develop a plan to decarbonise the heat supply by 2045. The deadline to submit the first plan is June 2026 for large municipalities and June 2028 for smaller municipalities. It is supposed to be updated every five years and includes an analysis of potential sources for renewable energy or waste heat. The plan is not legally binding, but rather has a coordinating function for local stakeholders.
