Renewable Energy 2035 Roadmap
In October 2024, Renewable Energy Roadmap for 2035 was launched. It is aimed to increase our cumulative solar and wind installed power capacity to 120 GW in 2035, and it is estimated that 80 billion USD of investment will be needed. Ban on export of petoleum products by road
To prevent a shortage of oil products on the domestic market, the Ministry of Energy adopted a joint order “on some issues of export of oil products from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” It provides for the introduction of a six-month ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel and certain types of oil products from the territory of Kazakhstan by road. Exceptions include exports in gas tanks provided by the manufacturer of motor vehicles and installed in accordance with the specifications, as well as in separate containers with a volume of more than 20 L.

Senate Bill No. 454/2017 on the reduction of pollutant emissions from road vehicles
The 2017 law on pollutant emissions from road transport vehicles set targets and objectives to gradually reduce the sales of ICE cars. It notably set the following landmarks: At most 90% of car sales to be ICEs in January 2030At most 70% of car sales to be ICEs in January 2040At most 10% of car sales to be ICEs in January 2050An ICE sales ban by 2060 at the latest.Bill has been shelved in 2022.
