Transport Malta earmarked a €34 million grant program to support the adoption of electric vehicles, pedelecs, and motorcycles, along with a vehicle scrapping scheme. The initiative is part of the government's effort to promote sustainable transport. The grants for 2025 include financial incentives for various vehicles, such as €500 for pedelecs, €8,000 for electric cars under €40,000, and up to €6,000 for electric motorcycles. There are additional incentives for scrapping old vehicles, with extra benefits for those in Gozo. Businesses and voluntary organizations can also apply for support to transition to electric fleets.
