(Alberta) AER Directive 017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations
This directive consolidates, clarifies, and updates Alberta requirements for measurement points used for accounting and reporting purposes, for both upstream petroleum facilities and some downstream pipeline operations. In December 2018, the directive was updated to track changes in Directive 060 on methane flaring and venting. This directive specifies: -what and how volumes must be measured;-what, where, and how volumes may be estimated;-if accounting procedures must be performed on the determined volumes and what they are;-what data must be kept for audit purposes; and-what must be reported to the Alberta Energy Regulator. 2018 updates to the…

Transport Project Partnership
…technology and modelling methodologies. The Partnership enables the exchange of ideas and information, allowing the IEA to strengthen its knowledge base for its analysis and research.
The origin of the IEA’s transport modelling and the Partnership that supports it can be traced back to the Sustainable Mobility Project (SMP) and the Mobility 2030 report of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Established in 2000 to consider how global mobility patterns might evolve in the period to 2030 and beyond, the SMP concentrated on mobility issues related to road transportation.
IEA's Transport Project Partners currently include senior… -

Hydrogen transmission tariffs
The Dutch energy regulator, ACM, published a market report in May 2025 with an assessment of the hydrogen transmission tariffs. From 2033 at the latest, ACM will set tariffs based on actual incurred costs. Before that period, some of the options to deal with the low utilisation from early stages are to use an intertemporal cost allocation (i.e. spreading the cost recovery for the network over time), direct government subsidies to the network operators and indirect government support through, for example, loan guarantees

Methane monitoring requires that the UGS operator:• Measure well pressure and record at least once a day; • Conduct real-time data gathering (i.e., sensors and alarms);• Notify the regulator if there is an unintended gas release “of any size” (1726.7; 1726.9 specifies report content); and• Follow…
