Temporary household heating subsidies
In an effort to cushion domestic consumers from the effects of the global energy crisis, the Latvian government implemented a heating subsidy schemes for households in 2022. Support is provided for wood-based heating purchase, in the form of a fixed EUR 60 transfer, as well as a price- based subsidy. Households depending on electric heating are entitled to a price-based subsidy when their monthly electricity consumption is between 500 and 2000 kWh.
