Inner Mongolia plan for Green Hydrogen Pipeline Construction Development
The Inner Monglia Energy Bureau plans to cordinate green markets within/outside the region, starting from pilot H2 pipeline projects as a near term step, to create a comprehensive network through optimized pipeline layout, and smart dispatch systems, and peak shaving storage such as fixed H2 tanks and underground caverns.

JPY 234 billion/yr (Japanese yen) (USD 1.5 billion/yr) awarded to five coal plants (770 MW of capacity) to cofire ammonia (at 20% volume) and one gas plant (55 MW) to co-fire hydrogen (at 10%). OPEX support granted for 20 years. The auction was open for 12 months April 2023-March 2024. The total capacity awarded was 9.77 GW, which included 5.76 GW of gas generation which is subject to gradual change to cleaner energy sources. In an effort to shield domestic consumers from the effects of the global energy price crisis, the Hungarian government enacted a fuel price cap, set at HUF 480 per liter in November 2021. The cap initially translated into a domestic average price reduction of HUF 506 for gasoline and HUF 512 for diesel. It was extended several times, and now runs until October 2022. Joint Statement on LNG importers’ initiative alliance for methane mitigation from the LNG value chain
On 6 October 2024, Japan made a joint statement with the European Commission committing to pursue collective efforts and implement measures to reduce methane emissions in the LNG value chain, including by cooperation on knowledge sharing of technologies and MRV, aligning the content of data collection efforts by consumers towards LNG and gas producers, and supporting and collaborating with the IEA and the International Methane Emissions Observatory.
