                Under the EU Directive 2009/28/EC member countries of the European Union are obliged to draft and submit to the European Commission National Renewable Action Plans (NREAPs) outlining pathway which will allow them to meet their 2020 renewable energy, energy efficiency and GHG cuts targets.
                Cyprus 2020 renewable energy targets:

                Overall target: 13% of share of energy generated from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption;
                Heating and cooling: 23.5% of heat consumption met by renewable sources;
                Electricity: 16% of electricity demand met by electricity generated from renewable energy sources;

                2021-27 Strategic Plan - Energy Efficiency of Residential Buildings

                According to the Estonian Strategic Plan, €3.37 billion in cohesion policy grants will be allocated for the period 2021-2027. One of the objectives is to improve the energy efficency of residential buildings.

                Public investments aimed at improving the housing's energy efficiency standards will include introducing new technologies, developing targeted research and development in the area, raising awareness of materials' effects, demolishing decommissioned buildings, introducing specific support and guarantee measures and establishing housing investment fund.

                47 million EUR have been secured at this stage for this measure.
