Building Renovation Program (Das Gebäudeprogramm, Le Programme Bâtiments)
The Building Programme has been implemented to encourage energy efficient renovation of old buildings with the purpose of lowering greenhouse gas emissions (mostly CO2). The Building Programme is executed together with almost all of Switzerland's cantons, who encourage the use of renewable energy, waste heat, improved building technology and also total building renovation. Environmental regulations RE2020 - gas boiler installation ban
The environmental regulations RE2020 set new norms to the construction sector. It includes the ban of gas heating systems in new houses as of 1st January 2022. It does not cover other buildings.

Solar Thermal Energy
The Decree regulates some obligations (previously set up by Solar Power Act N° 18.585) on health care centres, hotels, sports clubs and public buildings for water heating, on a progressive basis. The Decree also establishes some tax exemptions for the acquisiton of solar panels.
There are also provisions creating a registry for: (i) producers of solar equipment, (ii) importers of solar equipment and (iii) technical responsible solar power facilities. -

2026 Summit on Clean Cooking in Africa
Event Postponed
In light of ongoing uncertainties and evolving circumstances that may affect the ability of key stakeholders to travel and participate fully in the Summit, this event has been postponed to a later date. The co-chairs and co-organisers will hold a high-level virtual session on 9 July, which will be broadcast on IEA digital channels.

EU Regulation 206/2012 with regard to ecodesign requirements for air conditioners and comfort fans
This regulation establishes eco-design requirements for the placing on the market of electric mains-operated air conditioners with a rated capacity of less than 12 kW for cooling, or heating if the product has no cooling function, and comfort fans with an electric fan power input of less than 125W.
