Promotion of High Efficiency Cogeneration
The ministerial decree of 4th August, 2011 contains the new Annexes which partly replace and supplement the Annexes of the Decree no. 20/2007 that implements Directive 2004/8/EC on the promotion of cogeneration (CHP). This measure defines the new calculation method for the recognition of high efficiency cogeneration. The ministerial decree of 5th September, 2011 defines the incentive mechanisms for high efficiency cogeneration. Prohibition of placing on the market for soild fuel boilers of emmission 1st class and 2nd emmission class
The act sets minimum standards for solid fuel boilers that are not provided for by EU legislation. According to this provision, solid fuel boilers with a rated thermal input of 300 kW or less that does not meet the emission requirements of Annex 10 to Act No. 201/2012 Coll, cannot be placed on the market. Specifically, these are solid fuel boilers of the 1st emission class with an efficiency of <66% and solid fuel boilers of the 2nd emission class with an efficiency of <66-73%

Affordable Warmth Scheme
The Affordable Warmth Scheme is the Northern Ireland Government's scheme to tackle fuel poverty in the private sector. The Housing Executive and local Councils deliver the Scheme throughout Northern Ireland. Eligibility requirements require applicants to own their own home or rent it from a private landlord, and have a total annual income of less that £20,000. The Scheme is targeted at areas where levels of fuel poverty are worst. This standard establishes the thermal performance specifications of solar water heaters for domestic and commercial use, thermosiphon type, that have a thermal tank with a maximum capacity of 500 liters; the gas saving of solar water heaters with the backing of a water heater that uses LP gas or natural gas as fuel. See the attachment for the minimum thermal efficiency levels.
