Clean Heating for All programme
| Federal and State programme to support thermal renovation of buildings (renovation bonus), and upgrade heating boilers in low-income households. The Climate Protection Ministry (BMK) subsidized the replacement of inefficient fossil-fuelled oil or gas heating system. From 2022 to 2024, about 6,200 fossil fuel boilers of low-income-households had been abolished and funded by a national budget of about 140 million euros. The funding was continued in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management (BMLUK) in 2025. Montreal ban on gas/oil-powered heating systems
Montreal bans oil and natural gas connections in most new buildings starting October 1, 2024, for smaller buildings, and April 1, 2025, for larger ones. This regulation aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help the city achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Exceptions include emergency generators, commercial stoves, and temporary heating devices.

This Regulation establishes ecodesign requirements for the placing on the market and/or putting into service of space heaters and combination heaters with a rated heat output = 400 kW, including those integrated in packages of space heater, temperature control and solar device or packages of combination heater, temperature control and solar device as defined in Article 2 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 811/2013.
