The Role of Critical Minerals in Clean Energy Transitions
Minerals are essential components in many of today’s rapidly growing clean energy technologies – from wind turbines and electricity networks to electric vehicles. Demand for these minerals will grow quickly as clean energy transitions gather pace. The World Energy Outlook Special Report The Role of Critical Minerals in Clean Energy Transitions provides the most comprehensive analysis to date of the complex links between these minerals and the prospects for a secure, rapid transformation of the energy sector. Alongside a wealth of detail on mineral demand prospects under different technology and policy assumptions, it examines whether today’s mineral investments can…

Energy End-uses and Efficiency Indicators
Annual data from 2000 covering end-use energy consumption, now featuring end-use carbon emissions for the IEA member countries and beyond.
The data is updated twice a year, at the end of each semesters. The Energy End-uses and Efficiency Indicators database contains annual data from 2000 covering end use energy consumption by energy product, end use carbon emissions, associated indicators across four sectors of final consumption (industry, services, residential and transport) and energy decomposition analysis, to show the impact of different drivers (e.g. activity, structure and efficiency) on consumption trends, for the IEA member countries and beyond… -

Global Energy Review: CO2 Emissions in 2021
Global emissions rebound sharply to highest ever level The global CO2 emissions and energy demand numbers are based on the IEA’s detailed region-by-region and fuel-by-fuel analysis, drawing on the latest official national data and publicly available energy, economic and weather data. Combined with the methane emissions estimates published by the IEA and estimates of nitrous oxide and flaring related CO2 emissions, this new analysis shows that overall greenhouse gas emissions from energy rose to their highest ever level in 2021.

Life Cycle Upstream Emissions Factors 2025
Life cycle upstream emission factors corresponding to national electricity grids The IEA is disseminating this database including life cycle emission factors corresponding to national electricity grids. The database aims to assess and compile reliable data to provide a global harmonized database on an annual basis. This database complements the IEA Emissions Factors 2025 database which includes emission factors corresponding to direct combustion at the point of electricity generation.Data is published in an excel format and includes three main sheets with a set of life cycle emission factors corresponding to electricity generation. The factors are described below:Total upstream emission factors (in…
