Wan Gang
Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Previous Minister of Science and Technology. Widely recognised as “the father of new energy vehicles” in China, Wan Gang served as the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology between 2007 and 2018. As well as his current role as Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, he is also President of the China Association for Science and Technology.

Mélanie Auvray
Head of Supply Chain and Competitiveness, European Heat Pumps Association. Mélanie holds a master's degree in international and European Law (in English) from Tilburg University, in Netherlands, with a focus on environmental law. After her graduation in 2019, Mélanie joined directly the European Heat Pump Association as a policy assistant and analysed the European Green Deal and its opportunities for the heat pump sector. She quickly took the lead on products related legislations (Ecodesign, energy labelling, network codes, code of conducts…) and started managing the Heat Pump Manufacturers Committee. With the expertise of the members, Mélanie drafted position papers and statements as support to engage with various European and National actors. As Head of Supply Chain & Competitiveness , she oversees the policy officers working on product-related legislation. Ben van Beurden
Chief Executive Officer. Ben van Beurden has led Royal Dutch Shell, one of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies, since the start of 2014. Before becoming Chief Executive, he worked as Downstream Director and Executive Vice President Chemicals. He joined Shell in 1983 after studying chemical engineering.

Claire Bouteille
Chief Management Officer. Claire Bouteille joined the IEA as Chief Management Officer in May 2013. As head of the Office of Management and Administration (OMA), she has overall responsibility for the Finance Unit, the Information Systems Unit, the Building and Operations Unit, and Human Resource issues. She was formerly the Head of Corporate Services at the British Embassy Paris, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with direct responsibility for the leadership and management of that section, and responsibility for human resources, finance and budget management, information technology, communications, security, transport and logistics, and the bilateral Ambassador's Residence.
