Monthly Electricity Statistics

Highlights and data explorer of monthly electricity production and trade data for all OECD member countries and electricity production data for a selection of other economies

Highlight of the month

In April 2026, net electricity generation in Belgium totalled 4.5 TWh, a decrease of 20.2% (1.1 TWh) compared with April 2025.

This decline was primarily driven by a 95.8% (1.5 TWh) year-on-year drop in nuclear generation, following the planned maintenance outages of the Tihange 3 and Doel 4 reactors. The reduction in domestic generation was partly offset by a 54.1% increase in electricity imports and a 16.6% rise in renewable electricity generation compared with the same month last year.
