Improving the fuel economy performance of trucks in Indonesia

By sequencing governance, data collection, engine testing, simulation tool development, labelling, and finally fleet-average regulation, Indonesia could develop a practical approach to improving truck efficiency while limiting implementation risks. Early action on engines could support near-term gains, while preparing the technical and institutional foundations for more comprehensive standards over time.
