Electricity security report cover

Electricity is becoming increasingly important to the functioning of modern economies because it is essential to a range of critical services from healthcare to banking to transportation. Secure supply of electricity is thus paramount. Threats to electricity security are evolving along with the operation of the power system. To ensure that power systems remain secure, new frameworks are needed to transition to higher shares of variable renewables, increase interconnected devices and handle the changing pattern of extreme weather events.
