MME-MCTIC-MDIC INTERMINISTERIAL ORDER No. 01/2018 (Refrigerators and Freezers)

This ordinance establishes new energy efficiency ratios for refrigerators and freezers in homes and businesses. It foresees the removal of less efficient equipment from the market, according to each model.



 



The equipment referred to in this goal programme are domestic and imported refrigerators and freezers for sale in Brazil, classified into categories:




  • Mini fridge

  • Refrigerator

  • Frost Free Refrigerator

  • Combined

  • Frost-Free Combined

  • Side by side

  • Vertical freezer

  • Frost-Free Vertical Freezer

  • Horizontal freezer



 



The equipment is intended for operation in alternating current of 60 Hz and rated voltages of 127 V or 220 V, or voltage ranges that encompass them or, for operation in direct current.



 



Technical requirements



 



C/Cp: relationship between the consumption measured in the laboratory and the standard consumption established by statistical analysis



 



Maximum consumption levels for refrigerators (C/Cp ):



 



Mini fridge = 0.972



Refrigerator = 0.972



Frost-Free Refrigerator = 0.972



Combined =  0.972



Frost-Free Combined = 0.963



Side by Side = 0.972



 



Maximum consumption levels for freezers (C/Cp ):



 



Vertical freezer = 0.972



Frost-Free Vertical Freezer = 0.972



Horizontal freezer = 0.972
