Commercial Building Incentive Program (Extension)

Last updated: 5 November 2017
On August 12, 2003, the Government of Canada announced the investment of $47.2 million from Budget 2003 for an extension of the Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP) until March 2007. CBIP offers a financial incentive of up to $60,000 for new commercial and institutional buildings that are designed to be at least 25% more energy-efficient than a building designed to the requirement of the Model National Energy Code for Buildings. The incentive is intended to help offset the incremental design costs associated with designing energy efficient buildings.
