National Strategy for renewable energy and energy efficiency

Main objectives of the Strategy:  


1- Grid-based renewable energy:



  • 15% share of electricity generation in 2025 

  • Wind: 1200 GWh per year 

  • Geothermal: 1183 GWh per year 

  • Solar water heaters: 230 GWh per year 

  • Economic Lamps: 460 GWh per year 

  • Total 3073 GWh per year


2- Off-grid renewable energy:



  • By 2025 approximately 20000 households will be electrified by solar PV off-grid installations
