Fund for the Promotion of Industrial Decarbonisation and Carbon Contracts for Difference

Royal Decree-Law 7/2026 reforms the existing energy-intensive industry guarantee fund into the Fund for the Promotion of Industrial Decarbonisation. It introduces carbon contracts for difference to reduce investment risk for industrial decarbonisation projects by compensating part or all of the gap between low-carbon technology costs and prevailing carbon or energy price signals.
