Modernization of the Energy Efficiency Act

Bill S-4, an Act to amend the Energy Efficiency Act, was tabled in the Senate in November 2025. It seeks to modernise out-dated provisions (e.g., capturing online sales) and to streamline federal regulatory processes (i.e., reduce time and costs of regulation and provide enhanced flexibility for regulated parties). As of writing, the bill has not received Royal Assent.
