National Automotive Industry Development Bill

The National Automotive Industry Development Bill establishes a legal and institutional framework to regulate and grow Kenya's automotive sector. It creates two primary bodies: the National Automotive Council, responsible for policy and licensing, and the Automotive Institute, focused on research and training.

A central objective is to promote local manufacturing and "Buy Kenya Build Kenya" initiatives to increase the use of domestic parts and software. The Bill also introduces financial incentives for locally produced vehicles and a dedicated Tribunal to resolve industry disputes.
