Electricity grid resilience and undergrounding programme

Lithuania approved a EUR 40 million programme to improve electricity network resilience by replacing 10 kV overhead power lines with underground cable lines, particularly in forested areas prone to outages. The measure aims to reduce disruptions caused by extreme weather and falling trees, improve reliability of electricity supply, and support the integration of renewable energy into the grid.
