National Energy Development Strategy

The decision establishes Vietnam’s National Energy Development Strategy to 2030 with a vision to 2045, setting an overarching framework for energy security, diversification, and sustainability. It targets total primary energy supply of approximately 150-170 Mtoe by 2030, while increasing the share of renewable energy to around 15-20% of total primary energy supply by 2030 and 65-70% by 2045. The strategy also prioritises reducing reliance on fossil fuels, expanding domestic energy production, and strengthening infrastructure, with the Ministry of Industry and Trade responsible for coordinating implementation.
