Standard Gauge Railway Line (SGR) Project

The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Project is Tanzania’s flagship rail infrastructure investment programme aimed at modernising the national railway network. The project involves constructing a 2,561 km electrified railway network linking Dar es Salaam with inland regions and neighbouring countries, with total investment estimated at around USD 10 billion, including USD 3.1 billion for the Dar es Salaam-Dodoma section.
