National Strategy on Climate Change of Turkmenistan

The updated National Climate Change Strategy outlines mitigation and adaptation actions across energy, transport and industry. Key priorities include reducing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector, improving energy efficiency in electricity generation and industry, and expanding renewable energy deployment. The strategy supports Turkmenistan’s NDC target to limit greenhouse-gas emissions growth relative to business-as-usual by 2030, primarily through reduced methane leakage in gas infrastructure and improved efficiency of gas-fired power plants.
