Green Levy
This levy ranges from CAD 1000 for vehicles with a fuel
consumption of 13.0-13.9 litres per 100 kilometres to CAD 4000 for those that consume 16 litres or more
per 100 kilometres. This levy acts as a disincentive to the purchase of vehicles with poor fuel economy and
thereby indirectly favours purchases of fuel-efficient vehicles, including HEVs and PEVs.
