Bolivia and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29 March 2019 to support the development of geological and mineral resources, encourage investment, promote technology transfer, and establish a Joint Working Group to advance those objectives. The MoU covers cooperation areas such as geological mapping and research, prospecting and exploration, mining development, beneficiation of minerals and ores, staff training, and the organisation of seminars and expert visits to exchange views on development strategies and identify investment opportunities. It also contemplates cooperation on mining policies, laws and regulations, and promotes partnership contracts and strategic alliances for geological studies and the development of mineral deposits. Originally set for five years, the MoU was extended in October 2025 until 28 March 2029, strengthening bilateral technical cooperation and expanding the agenda to include the sustainable use of natural resources and technological innovation in the mining sector.
