Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Engines and Vehicles— Phase 2

The second phase of Vehicle and Engine Performance standards cover tractors, trailers, vocational vehicles and pickups/vans. The main goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fuel consumption by 2027:

• by 24% over the MY 2017 for vocational vehicle chassis  
• by 16% over the MY 2018-2019 for HD pickups and vans. 
• by 25% over the MY 2017 for tractors
• by 9% over the MY 2017 for trailers

Together with phase 1, the standards will result in an approximate 9%–12% fuel consumption reduction from 2010 baseline engines by model year 2027.
