Direct grant for BASF Hy4Chem

The project comprises a 54-megawatt proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen at BASF's Ludwigshafen site. This electrolyzer will produce up to 8 ktpa of hydrogen. The hydrogen produced will primarily be used as a raw material in BASF's production processes. Funding notice with a volume of EUR 124.3 million was provided in November 2023. The electrolyzer started operation in March 2025.
