Direct grant for DRI+EAF in Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt (Arcelor Mittal)

EUR 1.3 billion as a direct grant for a DRI plant and three EAF replacing 2 (out of 3) blast furnaces and 2 (out of 4) blast oxygen furnaces in the facility. The project targets a full capacity of 3.8 Mtpa of steel starting operations in 2026. The project applied to IPCEI, but was more suitable for support under CEEAG. The funding notice was given in May 2024.
