Public hydrogen utility (California)

Californian cities of Lancaster and Industry have launched together a public hydrogen utility (called First Public Hydrogen) that would act as a bridge between producers and public agencies that may otherwise be too small to pursue their own supply. The utility is a joint power authority which allows government bodies to operate as a stand-alone structure. The utility will buy the hydrogen at wholesale prices and sell to individual consumers. The utility aims to sign its first customer agreement in January 2025 with delivery starting within 24 months
