UBA (German Environment Agency) RFNBO recognition to contribute to GHG quota

The 37th Ordinance for the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act (37. BImSchV) is an ordinance on the offsetting of electricity-based fuels, co-processed biogenic oils and RFNBOs against the GHG Quota for the transport sector as defined in the Federal Imissions Control Act (BImSchG)​. The latest revision (approved by Parliament in March 2024) of the 37th BImSchV expands the scope of fuels that can be counted towards the GHG reduction quota to include RFNBO. The EU delegated acts to Art. 27 (2023/1184) and Art. 28 (2023/1185) are nationally implemented through the revision. For RFNBOs a multiplier of 3 was introduced.
