Top Runner Programme - Air conditioners (2008)

The Top Runner Programme was introduced in 1998 to reduce energy consumption in the building and transport sectors. This programme is the standard of energy efficiency for products and applied to 31 products of machinery, equipment and vehicles prescribed under the Energy Conservation Law.

The standards for home-use and for commercial-use air conditioners were updated in 2008 with efficiency targets towards FY2012.
